The name Andrew Tate needs no introduction at this point. The controversial social media star has become one of the most talked-about names in the world.
However, when he was not so well known during his kickboxing days, a man by the name of Daniel Knight spotted his talent. For those unaware, Knight is the founder of Sidekick Boxing a company that used to sponsor Tate during his kickboxing days.
Daniel Knight grew up in Brighton, UK. He always had a passion for business and, as a qualified vehicle paint sprayer, opened his own body repair center. A combination of a love for martial arts from his mother and a passion for business, Sidekick was founded.
Daniel Knight first started to fall in love with combat sports at an early age. In 2010, Knight embarked on his dream and vision – Sidekick. The boxing equipment brand has become synonymous with Kickboxing but has spread its wings and also covers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as mixed martial arts equipment. Knight has never been shy about sponsoring fighters or promotions.
The same tends to have been the case with his partnership with Andrew Tate as well.

“It was strange. I think he might have seen the prospect in him and I suppose him working with a new brand which I was at the time whether it is sort of personal perspective…I think he might have thought that he could have been sponsored by big companies.”
Despite his team’s disapproval at the start, Andrew Tate agreed to sign with Sidekick Boxing as he might’ve seen the vision behind the brand and his founder, Daniel Knight. Their partnership ultimately proved to be beneficial for both.
