Islam Makhachev began his professional fighting career in 2010. On October 2, 2014, he signed a four-fight deal with the UFC. On October 3, 2015, at UFC 192, Makhachev faced Adriano Martins and suffered his first and only professional loss by knockout in the first round.
Since then, Makhachev has fought 15 times in the UFC and is currently on a 12-fight winning streak. This streak, along with Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, ties the record for the longest winning streak in the division’s history.
