UFC 307 delivered another action-filled night with intense fights, jaw-dropping finishes, and a main event that caught everyone off guard. Not just the main card but the prelims also delivered a strong lineup of action-packed bouts. Consequently, the question arises: who snagged the extra bonus from Dana White? The answer is that only 4 fighters across the entire card earned the bonus.
When it comes to Fight of the Night, nothing topped the showdown between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree. In the main event, Rountree was seen as a major underdog, with many not expecting him to deliver such a standout performance. Even in defeat to Pereira, Khalil showed incredible heart and resilience in the octagon.
However, ‘Poatan’ was behind two rounds to one against challenger “Glory Killer,” but he came back strong in the fourth round to claim his third light heavyweight title defense of the year. After the solid fight it resulted in both fighters taking home the Fight of the Night.
UFC 307 Bonuses: Ryan Spann and Joaquin Buckley Earned Performance of The Night
Besides the main event, the fight that really shocked fans was Buckley vs. Wonderboy. After landing some solid strikes, Buckley backed him up to the fence and delivered a hard right hand that knocked him down. Just before referee Mike Beltran could stop the action, Buckley threw a few more punches. The fight was over at 2 minutes and 17 seconds into the third round. This earned Buckley a “Performance of the Night” bonus and marked his fifth consecutive win.
It wasn’t only about the striking — Ryan Spann’s ground game stood out against Saint Preux. The former interim 205 lbs title challenger from Immokalee, Florida, tried to break free but was caught in a guillotine choke, forcing him to tap. Referee Mike Beltran ended the fight at 1 minute and 35 seconds into the first round. And this earned him an additional $50k.
