Conor McGregor’s official return date has been declared.
Following the incredible UFC 300 event, UFC CEO Dana White declared that McGregor will return to headline UFC 303 on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, during International Fight Week, against Michael Chandler.
For McGregor, it has been a long time coming. His injuries during his most recent fight, UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier, left him with a broken leg and put him on the shelf. McGregor’s injuries kept him out of action, but when he agreed to coach The Ultimate Fighter 31 alongside Chandler this past year, he began planning his comeback.
McGregor did not return when his coaching stint on the reality show ended, mostly because he had not re-enrolled in the UFC’s anti-doping program. After completing the necessary six months of testing, McGregor eventually submitted to a drug test this past October. As of March, he was cleared to compete.
Conor McGregor Making His Comeback In UFC 303
Although McGregor had previously committed to promoting the new Road House remake on Amazon, which marked his first leading part in a feature film, there had been weeks of rumors that he would take on Chandler at UFC 300. Fighting at UFC 300 was only possible with that promotion schedule.
While he waits for the McGregor match, Chandler, the former lightweight champion of Bellator, has been sidelined for more than a year. His most recent appearance was in November 2022, when he lost to Dustin Poirier via submission, bringing his UFC record to 2-3 overall.

\When Chandler takes on McGregor in June, he intends to get back on track and defeat the biggest draw in UFC history. More bouts for the June pay-per-view are anticipated to be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
The former featherweight and lightweight champion has headlined the promotion’s highest-grossing events. Though more world title matches and a solid co-main event are required, the UFC’s prospects are encouraging.
It will be International Fight Week, which usually results in several events with many celebrities. Given that McGregor vs. Chandler is the headline event, I anticipate seeing at least one championship bout added to the schedule, even though there won’t be a title at stake.
