Back in 2019, Michael ‘Venom’ Page was gearing up for a fight against Douglas Lima at Bellator 221. The event was set to be headlined by Patricio Pitbull and Michael Chandler. Speaking about the same during an episode of his podcast back then, Joe Rogan suggested that ‘Venom’ was headliner-worthy. Rogan expressed how he was more excited for the co-main event than the main event and stated:
“Chandler vs. Pitbull, Lima vs. MVP, that’s it. Douglas Lima is no joke, he’s no joke, that’s a dangerous man, Lima. He’s a fu*king enormous welterweight too…these are fights that could easily be a main event in the UFC.”

Michael ‘Venom’ Page suggests that UFC should impose a fine for trash-talking
Last year, Michael ‘Venom’ Page came up with an intriguing concept. He suggested that the UFC should fine the fighters who overstep boundaries while trash-talking.
During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Page expressed his concerns about fighters dragging families into the mix. He even gave Colby Covington’s example and claimed that the UFC should fine fighters to prevent this from happening. He said:
“For me, I feel like the UFC could you know, hand out fines. Just do something just to kind of alleviate so people don’t, If you’re going to step over the [line], you know, I’m not going to punish you open to the public because it helps with sales I guess but, there you go, have that fine. Let’s see how often you’re going to want to do things like that. Like similar to a yellow card in football.”

It is worth noting that any such fine is unlikely to be implemented by the promotion, however, Michael ‘Venom’ Page has certainly raised interesting points.
