Curtis then hobbled out of the octagon and lay down on the stretcher, where he was removed from the facility and transferred to the waiting medical staff. They then took him to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. UFC reporter Heidi Androl disclosed on the post-fight program that Nicksick had informed her that Curtis most likely had a torn hamstring, which had also been examined by the UFC staff physician at the arena.
According to MMA Fighting, “They believe it was a torn hamstring that happened in the last shot of the fight,” Androl reported. “He does believe, and I spoke to Dr. [Jeff Davidson] that this is a torn hamstring. Dr. D calls it a biceps femoris is the belly of the hamstring. He said in fact if it is a tear, that’s a four-month recovery. They’ve ordered the MRI to happen on Monday.”
