Despite losing three title fights in the Welterweight division, Colby Covington is still one of the top guys. He last fought Leon Edwards in the financial capital of the world, London. The bout did not go his way as Colby got dominated by Edwards throughout five rounds. Since his loss in the title fight, Covington has been missing from the octagon action. Colby Covington and the UFC have not announced his fight in the octagon. Covington recently was seen talking about one of his plausible contenders in the company.
Covington is one of the best wrestlers in the division. He still happens to be one of the most versatile fighters in the company.

Ian Garry is one of the up-and-coming trailblazing opponents in the octagon. Garry hails from Conor’s homeland of Ireland. Garry is an elite striker and an equally good grappler. Ian Garry has called out Colby Covington several times on his social media handle. Ian Garry is on an impressive seven-fight win streak in the UFC and remains unbeaten in his career. Colby, on a possible fight with Garry, said,
There’s this kid that’s calling me out. This kid, Ian Garry, He’s a nobody. I gave him some stipulations and said ‘Hey man, if you wanna fight me, you have to show me you’re serious about business’
Colby Covington made it clear that he does not rate Ian Garry highly despite his impressive run in the company. Covington wants Ian Garry to agree to the stipulations he dictated to him a few months back on his social media handle. There was an ugly and vile altercation between the duo on social media. Covington was dictating vile comments towards Ian Garry and his family on the internet. It seems that Ian Garry wants to take revenge inside the octagon.
The Irish Garry is a natural striker, whereas Colby Covington is a chain wrestler. Colby was a first-division wrestler in college. If a bout is finalized, the matchup will be a traditional striker taking on a grappler. It’ll be interesting to see if both stars agree to scrap it out and who will come out on top. Colby Covington is one of the least active fighters in the company and will want to get back to the title to make another run at the UFC gold.
