Alex Pereira joined the UFC in 2021 and has been rapidly ascending to the Hall of Fame. He became the fastest fighter to win belts in two divisions when he won the light heavyweight title in his seventh UFC fight after his victory as the promotion’s middleweight champion in just four fights.
Alex Pereira most recently added a new achievement to his resume when he defeated previous champion Jamahal Hill in the UFC 300 main event, effectively defending his title. That same evening, he also received his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. We can now include acting experience on the resume.
Alex Pereira Lands Himself A Commercial
Alex Pereira adds something else to his resume besides MMA. A new Topps commercial featuring the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira working at his neighborhood hobby shop promotes a trading card buyback event.
With Pereira at the center, Topps, the collectibles business behind UFC cards, unveiled an ad for the UFC Chrome product on Monday. In the advertisement, the UFC light heavyweight champion Poatan engages with fans at a card shop, displaying his signature pre-fight menace. Considering that he doesn’t speak his native tongue, he doesn’t do too poorly.
In return for “Poatan,” Topps and certain hobby stores will purchase back 2024 Topps Chrome Alex Pereira cards and grant store credit.
How Do Topps Work?
- Acquire 2024 Topps Chrome UFC cards and amass Alex Pereira collection.
- Take the Alex Pereira trading cards to the partnering hobby store in your area.
- Get store credit by exchanging the cards.

On its website, Topps provides a list of partners involved. If there isn’t a partnering hobby store in your area, Topps has teamed up with three merchants to handle mail-in UFC Main Event buyback cards.
Later in the year, Pereira, 36, is anticipated to defend his 205-pound title against top competitor Magomed Ankalaev and former champion Jiri Prochazka, who are both vying for a shot at the light heavyweight championship.
