When naming some of the most dominant athletes in the world, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s name undoubtedly stands out. He is often regarded as the greatest Lightweight champion in the UFC’s history. The former champion was known for staying true to his Islamic and Dagestani roots and following a strict lifestyle during his fight days.
Meanwhile, Khabib’s old friend recently revealed the true nature of the former fighter away from the octagon.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s True Nature
Lightweight great Khabib Nurmagomedov fought thirteen times in the UFC and won every single fight. In the fight game, things can get ugly, but Khabib never crossed a line with any of his opponents. His old friend and the owner of K Dojo in New Jersey, Murat Keshtov, made a massive revelation about the true nature of the UFC Hall of Famer. Keshtov said,
Very very grateful for not forgetting us. From where he started and always calls and visits when he is in the area.
Keshtov clarified that Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most honorable and respectful men he has ever worked with. The Russian UFC star was kind enough to visit Murat before his protege Islam faces Dustin in the UFC 302 main event this weekend.
Khabib retired after his father passed away and vowed never to return. The Eagle is a man of his word, as he declined a heavy offer from the UFC president.

When fighting McGregor in 2018, Conor used a ton of vile expletives against Khabib, but the man, being his stoic self, did not even flinch and promised to beat up and finish Conor. He stayed true to his words and finished Conor in the fourth round. Khabib Nurmagomedov has now donned a coach’s hat as he shares his MMA wisdom with Makhachev in the octagon.
It will be interesting to see if Nurmagomedov’s protege, Islam Makhachev, emerges victorious in the upcoming UFC 302.
