UFC is one of the most physical and sometimes gorry sports someone can watch. That becomes painfully true when you see the injury that Irene Aldana suffered in her latest fight in the octagon.
On Saturday at UFC 306, Aldana was scheduled to go up against Norma Dumont at the Las Vegas Sphere. However, Aldana would go home with a loss and possibly one of the worst cuts in UFC history.
Viewers and social media users could not believe how bad the injury looked.
“That’s the worst cut in the history of the UFC and I won’t be convinced otherwise,” said one comment.

“First time I’ve ever felt like I was gonna throw up watching this sport,” said another.
“That cut on Irene Aldana is brutal! Tough to see such a fierce competitor dealing with that. Here’s hoping for a quick recovery and that she’s okay,” added a third.

“Pretty sure you can see the back of her head through that cut,” continued a fourth.
Luckily Aldana was quickly stitched back up after the match.

Obviously, blood is a pretty normal sight for people who watch UFC, but I don’t think anybody can be prepared for just how bad Aldana’s cut was.
Irene Aldana’s Record Falls to 15-8
Aldana started her career in the UFC back in 2012. She quickly made a name for herself, winning three straight matches in a two-year span.
Aldana’s hot streak continued, as she went 4-2 in her next six fights, with one of those losses being for the bantamweight title.
The rest of her career has been very hot and cold, going 8-6 since 2016 and losing yet another matchup for the title. Now, at 36 years old, fighters usually don’t get much better entering their late thirties.
It’s hard to see Aldana getting another shot at competing for a title.
