The UFC is probably one of, if not the most difficult sports to make it in, and it can be a life-or-death situation in the octagon on most nights. During Noche UFC, fighter Irene Aldana learned that very quickly, much to the cringes of fight fans everywhere.
The event, also known as UFC 306, was highlighted by Sean O’Malley’s decision to lose to Merab Dvalishvili. But that wasn’t the only highlight fans saw online during the event, as the production was insane.
And so Aldana’s injury she sustained during her women’s bantamweight bout with Norma Dumont. The match saw Dumont take home a decision victory after three rounds, but that was all overshadowed by Aldana’s injury, which she fought through.
The injury was probably one of the most gruesome ever seen in UFC history, as she was cut very deep by Dumont over her right eye and had blood pouring out during the fight. Fans have been wondering how the fighter has been doing since, and she recently gave an update.
Irene Aldana Is Still Enjoying Life After Her Gruesome UFC Injury
In the video posted to X by Full Send MMA, Aldana can be seen applying makeup to her face around the many stitches she was forced to get after the horrible facial injury. And honesty, it doesn’t seem to hurt the bantamweight fighter that much.

Fans continued praising her after the fight after she could continue fighting through the injury until the end of round three. One fan commented on the post, saying, “What a warrior! I hope things get better for her.”
One fan was having fun with Aldana, commenting that “nothing stops women from putting makeup on,” while another added that she was still “looking gorgeous” despite the gruesome face injury.
While her career may be put on hold for now as her injury will probably take a while to heal, nothing can be taken away from her as she showed the warrior spirit during her fight. Once the injury heals, fans should be eager to see when her next fight is.
