![Usman Nurmagomedov responds with class after Conor McGregor takes a shot at his family name, showing respect despite the jab](https://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Conor-McGregor-1024x563.jpg)
Usman Nurmagomedov is one of the biggest names emerging from the MMA scenario. Facing off against Paul Hughes, Nurmagomedov re-ignited the Ireland vs. Dagestan rivalry once again. And while the question comes down to this, it is imperative that Conor McGregor will surely be involved. Ever since his fallout with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, the bad blood between the two has only worsened.
With Nurmagomedov securing a victory over the Irish Hughes, McGregor constantly kept bashing the Nurmagomedov family. Reacting to the same, the PFL star spoke to MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn. Giving a classy reply, Nurmagomedov opined that McGregor must refrain from talking loosely in order to make people respect him.
“When you show bad example, this is very bad… Brother, a lot of people watching you. You have to be good example. I try to follow these rules,” said Usman.
Indeed, Nurmagomedov has established himself as a dominant force to be reckoned with. However, despite Hughes’s loss, Khabib has offered him the opportunity to travel to Dagestan and train with them.
Khabib Nurmagomedov Extends Training Offer For Paul Hughes Despite Usman Nurmagomedov Loss
Paul Hughes might have lost the bout to Usman Nurmagomedov, but he has gained a lot of respect. Putting up a dominant show, Hughes lost via decision in a closely contested game. However, an impressed Khabib Nurmagomedov stated that he could come to Dagestan and train alongside him.
“Thank you for the fight @paulhughesmma and for the experience, I invite you and your whole team and family to Dagestan, any time you want, believe me you will like it and your arrival will serve as a good example for many young generations,” wrote Khabib.

Thus, it is evident that while Paul Hughes has earned his respect, Conor McGregor still remains as the bad guy. Now, it will be interesting to see if McGregor replies to Usman or not.
