This was a rookie mistake.
Upon hearing the 10-second warning signal during the second round of her fight on Saturday night in Abu Dhabi, women’s bantamweight contender Bethe Correia tried to dap up her opponent and head to her corner to prepare for the next round.
The only problem was that there was still time left in the round, so her opponent, Pannie Kianzad, unloaded a fury of fists on her face at UFC Fight Night 174.
After eating two shots, she was able to gather herself enough to ward off the rest of the attacks.
Still, Kianzad ended up winning the fight via unanimous decision after the three rounds were over.
Judges scored the bout 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 for Kianzad.
