Conor McGregor is the biggest superstar in the UFC but has not fought for almost three years. UFC CEO Dana White had announced his return for UFC 303 against Michael Chandler, but the recent postponement of the Dublin press conference has put the fight in jeopardy.
White had announced he would fly to Dublin on a jet immediately after the UFC 302 post-fight press conference. However, a day before the press conference, the UFC announced the event’s postponement via social media. Many doubt the fight will happen, but Jon Anik is not among them.
Dana White Gets Backing of Play-by-Play Commentator Jon Aik
With his scintillating use of words in the commentary booth, Jon Anik is the voice of the UFC. Anik recently appeared on Michael Bisping’s YouTube channel, where the commentary duo revealed their thoughts about the cancellation of the Dublin press conference.
“The UFC live event has never been a hotter commodity. The appetite for UFC tickets and the number of people who want them in Vegas right now is absolutely crazy. So, I’m confident in this promotion to put together a great main event,” said Anik on Bisping’s YouTube.
Dana White had already announced that UFC 303 would make more than $20 million in live gate, the first in the promotion’s history. McGregor is, without a shadow of a doubt, the reason for it. Nonetheless, ticket prices for the event have fallen since the press conference postponement.
Conor McGregor released a statement after the postponement without actually revealing the reason. White had boasted that McGregor was the best fighter to do business with as he had never pulled out. Whether White’s impression of McGregor remains the same needs to be seen.
