After Conor McGregor caused the postponement of the Dublin press conference of UFC 303, fight fans were wary of the event happening. However, the “Notorious” Irishman has put a stamp to those rumors with impressive training footage on social media.
McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg in the fight against Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264. The rehabilitation and recovery, followed by a tussle with the USADA, lengthened his return to the Octagon. The recent training footage has excited the fans to see McGregor’s return.
Conor McGregor Shows Impressive MMA Skills in Training Videos
During his prime, Conor McGregor was a force to be reckoned with. With impressive anti-wrestling and anti-grappling, McGregor forced fighters to strike with him. With a piston of a left hand, McGregor knocked out opponents mercilessly.
McGregor’s renowned skillset was visible in his latest training footage. The Irishman showed off his impressive boxing technique as he stung his sparring partner with a Southpaw straight and right uppercut. In another video, McGregor showed tremendous takedown defense and footwork in MMA sparring.
McGregor also showed off his pad work in the video. Head coach John Kavanagh looked content with what he saw with his prized pupil. The Irishman might have intended to assure that the UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler is happening.
Nonetheless, the footage received a mixed reception from the fight fans. While some predicted an easy knockout victory for McGregor against Chandler, others pondered whether the fight would happen as they believed in the rumors circulating.
