‘The Karate Hottie’ Michelle Waterson entertained the UFC fans with her performances inside the Octagon and activities outside of it. One of the most beloved fighters in the UFC, Waterson retired at UFC 303 after her loss to Gillian Robertson. It was her fifth straight loss. Moreover, she had only won once in the past eight appearances inside the Octagon.
The promotion gave the 38-year-old a good send-off, showing her UFC career on the big screen. Now, the UFC has officially released the Colorado native from their roster. UFC Roster Tracker, an X account that monitors the UFC roster changes, broke the news. Having fought 15 times in the UFC, Waterson spent half of her MMA career in the premier MMA promotion.
In addition to being an MMA fighter, Michelle Waterson has worked as a stunt double for several big Hollywood productions. She was the stunt double for Kristin Wiig in MacGruber and Olivia Cooke in The Signal. Moreover, she also did stunts for Thor, The Lone Ranger, Transcendence, and Independence Day: Resurgence.
Several UFC fighters have transitioned well into an acting career. Kamaru Usman, Francis Ngannou, Tyron Woodley, Ronda Rousey, and Gina Carano have done it. Conor McGregor recently portrayed the primary antagonist in The Road House. Since she has retired from MMA, Waterson will likely concentrate on her acting career
Michelle Waterson Stars in Netflix’s Havoc with Tom Hardy
Michelle Waterson will star in a supporting role in the upcoming Netflix action thriller Havoc, directed by Gareth Evans. Best known for his work on The Raid, Evans has assembled an impressive cast, including Tom Hardy, Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, Yeo Yann Yann, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, and Sunny Pang.
Havoc will be Waterson’s first major role in a film after having done stunts and portrayed periphery characters. The film follows Hardy as Detective Walker, navigating a dangerous criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son. Along the way, he uncovers a web of corruption and conspiracy that threatens the entire city.

Hardy also produces the project, along with Evans, through his One More One Productions banner, Ed Talfan of Severn Screen, and Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films. Filming officially wrapped up on October 21, but additional filming has pushed the project to a later release in 2024.
