Belal Muhammad is gearing up for arguably his biggest fight in the UFC, with a shot at UFC gold, and he’s doing so with some heavyweight help. The welterweight contender has been training with none other than lightweight legend Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team for his upcoming title fight.
Muhammad recently shared some exciting insights about his preparations. He’s been soaking up knowledge from the Dagestani fight camp like a sponge. And he sure does sound confident. “I mean it benefits me everywhere right? Physically, mentally, spiritually, it just puts me on another level….To have him give me advice…and breaking down Leon and telling me what he the gameplan he thinks should be,” Muhammad stated via Shak Fu
Belal Muhammad revealed that the ‘Eagle’ himself has been breaking down Leon Edwards’ style for Muhammad and formulating a solution. The Palestinian-American fighter has become like family to Team Khabib. They’ve welcomed him with open arms, treating him like a brother. He had previously trained with Nurmagomedov’s team in his preparation for the Sean Brady fight.
‘Bully B’ and ‘Rocky’ have butted heads earlier in the Octagon. However, the fight had an uneventful ending when Edwards inadvertently poked Muhammad in the eye, leading to a No Contest. Now, both these fighters would hope to settle their previous score once and for all in the Octagon.

“If that is what he’s banking on having the man in his corner, that makes no difference to me you know. When it comes fight night, his skills are his skills, and the way he fights for last how many years is how he fights. Let’s see, I don’t give two sh**s who is in his corner or who is training with,” stated Edwards while talking to Red Corner MMA.
Edwards believes Muhammad’s fighting style is set in stone. His focus is laser-sharp on the task at hand. The champion’s journey to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. He dethroned the seemingly invincible Kamaru Usman with a spectacular head-kick KO. Since then, Edwards has successfully defended his title twice. Now, he embarks on a rematch that will cement his legacy even more in the annals of the welterweight division.
