‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas is already one of the best female fighters in the UFC. She is already 2-0 against Joanna Jedrzejczyk, the arguable GOAT of strawweight. Nonetheless, Namajunas has had her ups and downs. She is not undefeated, sporting a professional MMA record of 12 wins and six losses.
Thug will headline the upcoming promotional fight night, UFC Denver, at the Ball Arena against Tracy Cortez. The flyweight matchup will be the former strawweight champion’s third in her new division. Preluding the anticipated matchup, let’s delve into the losses the Lithuanian-American fighter suffered in MMA.
The Six Losses of Rose Namajunas
Despite being a two-time UFC strawweight champion, Namajunas has only fought 18 times, 15 in the UFC and three at Invicta FC. Notably, her first professional loss was in the all-female MMA promotion, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Tecia Torres at Invicta FC 6.
Following the fight, Torres and Namajunas competed at The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned, the 20th edition of the TUF reality series. Torres lost to Carla Esparza, who went on to defeat Namajunas in the finals, in the semifinals. It was Namajunas’ second pro-MMA loss.
Thug reeled off three victories before she lost the third time in pro-MMA. In a strawweight title eliminator against Karolina Kowalkiewicz in the co-main event of UFC 201, she agonizingly lost via split decision. Kowalkiewicz unsuccessfully challenged champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 205.
After losing to the Polish woman, Namajunas rebounded with a victory, won the title, and defended it against Jedrzejczyk. Unfortunately, she lost for the fourth time in her second title defense against Jessica Andrade via slam KO at UFC 237.

Andrade lost the title to Zhang Weili, who lost it to Namajunas, who defended it against the Chinawoman in the rematch. Unfortunately, she faltered again in her second title defense; this time to Carla Esparza at UFC 274. This was her 5th loss and the last one at strawweight.
The 32-year-old’s latest loss in professional MMA was on her flyweight debut. In the co-main event of UFC Paris 2023, Namajunas lost to Manon Fiorot via unanimous decision. She has rebounded from the loss, defeating Amanda Ribas at UFC Vegas 89.
