The assassination attempt against Donald Trump has left a lasting impression on the USA, including the American mixed martial arts community that has time and again voiced its support for the former POTUS.
Several UFC fighters, like Justin Gaethje, Beneil Dariush, Michael Chandler, and others, have publicly endorsed Trump. The ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan is synonymous with Trump, and Beneil Dariush, an American citizen and lightweight contender in the UFC, has called for drastic measures to help materialize the vision of making America great again.
Interestingly, Dariush’s suggestion closely aligns with the points made by Vivek Ramaswamy, who unsuccessfully contested for a Republican ticket. COVID-19, the border crisis, and overall political unrest have plagued the USA in recent times.
As for his next fight, Dariush is hoping to return to the octagon by the end of the year after dealing with a nagging knee injury. Currently, on a two-fight losing streak, the Iranian-American will be keeping a close eye on another potential UFC 305 lightweight meeting between Dan Hooker and Mateusz Gamrot. Hooker had allegedly declined a UFC Apex main event fight against Dariush, to fight at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia.
Dariush Breaks Down Tsarukyan vs. Makhachev
Although not official yet, Arman Tsarukyan vs. Islam Makhachev will likely headline UFC 308 in October. Many consider Tsarukyan to be a stylistic threat to Makhachev, the pound-for-pound king. However, as per the long-time lightweight contender, that isn’t the case.

Dariush told Submission Radio:
“I think the fight’s going to go into the latter rounds, and that’s going to be what helps Makhachev. I think he’s going to win the fight by decision most likely or finish at the end. But I think for Arman, his best chances are early. He’s an explosive guy; he can come out early, possibly get a KO or submission early on. But it’s going to be hard for him to win a five-round fight, in my opinion.”
Per Dariush, Makhachev’s energy conservation is the X-factor in the fight. Even though both fighters slowed down the longer the fight went on during their first encounter, Dariush felt the Russian fighter’s decline was slower than that of the Armenian.
