Conor McGregor, known for his success in the UFC, is venturing into acting with his debut role in the remake of “Road House” directed by Doug Liman. The movie premiered at South by Southwest on March 8, 2024, and will be available for streaming on Prime Video via Amazon MGM Studios starting March 21, 2024. McGregor’s role in the film marks a significant transition for the renowned fighter into the world of cinema, alongside co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.
Conor McGregor Opens Up About Hollywood Future Amid Lack of Projects Pre-Road House Release
Conor McGregor, who is making his Hollywood debut with “Road House,” discussed his experience acting for the first time during the SXSW 2024 film festival red carpet event. Many are curious about McGregor’s future in the film industry and whether he plans to pursue another movie after “Road House.”
“You know right now at this present time I’ve no conversation ongoing so we’ll see what happens, you know the movie is going to come out see how people respond and see what comes up you know ends up on my table” Conor said.
At 35 years old, McGregor caused a buzz online with his appearance in the initial trailer for the film. In “Road House,” he portrays ‘Knox,’ a hired enforcer who clashes with Jake Gyllenhaal’s lead character. McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion, hasn’t competed since July 2021, when he suffered a leg injury during a TKO defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
