Michael Chandler waited almost two years for a showdown with Conor McGregor, which didn’t materialize. McGregor pulled out of their fight at UFC 303 due to an injury. Chandler now appears to set sights on a new opponent, with MMA fans speculating on Max Holloway.
The American MMA fighter has been among the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster since they left Bellator. Holloway is the current BMF champion, who is on a roll. Holloway has knocked out The Korean Zombie and Justin Gaethje in his last two fights.
BMF Showdown: Chandler vs. Holloway on the Horizon?
After Conor McGregor’s withdrawal, many have advised Chandler to move on. The 38-year-old fighter seemed willing to wait for a later date to fight McGregor. However, Chandler now appears to have a change of heart, as evidenced by his recent tweets.
Chandler reposted a fan’s suggestion of a Holloway vs. Chandler matchup with a salute emoji. Moreover, he tweeted, ” Bravo. Mike. Foxtrot.” suggesting BMF. Chandler followed it up with another tweet, “Blessed Man Forever,” further fueling speculations of a matchup with Holloway.
Incidentally, Holloway fought McGregor when the latter was a featherweight, losing unanimously. He has also fought Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, who has beaten Michael Chandler. Holloway is 0-2 against Poirier but 1-0 against Gaethje.

Chandler’s suggestion to fight Max Holloway will throw a wrench in the mix as Holloway targets an undisputed title fight against Ilia Topuria. Nonetheless, a matchup between Holloway and Chandler is a worthy BMF title fight. Will the UFC go in that direction? Wait and see.
