In the sparring footage, the 30-year-old boxed with Grant Renecle, a South African social media content creator popularly known as Clean Cut Skolly. Renecle, who is 6’7″ tall, suggested du Plessis spar with him, hilariously suggesting it would help him fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. It didn’t go well for the content creator.
‘Stillknocks’ primarily attacked the body of his opponent and eventually dropped him with a brutal left hook to the Solar Plexus. The champion applauded Renecle for his bravery in sparring with a UFC champion. However, Renecle thought it was a dumb idea in hindsight. Nevertheless, fight fans had a field day as the sparring video went viral.

Fight fans saw numerous flows in the sparring footage of du Plessis. For someone like Israel Adesanya, one of the best kickboxers ever, the champion would present many openings to counter his aggression.
However, one thing to note is that du Plessis has always been awkward when striking. This awkwardness made it difficult for former opponents like Sean Strickland and Robert Whittaker. Will it trouble Adesanya? No one knows.
