The internet is a hotbed for wild theories, and one of the most talked-about is the “Drake curse.” The theory goes that whenever the Canadian rapper backs or bets on an athlete or team, they’re destined to lose. So, when Drake placed his bet on Israel Adesanya for UFC 305 against Dricus Du Plessis, fans online were convinced that DDP’s win was practically guaranteed. It’s nothing but one of such things that shows fans’ superstition.
Drake’s become a regular in the betting world, putting money on everything from the NFL to soccer and cricket. He’s had his fair share of big losses and wins. This weekend, the “God’s Plan” rapper tossed $450k on Izzy to beat DDP. With the Drake curse theory in play, fans are already downplaying Adesanya, believing his loss is a done deal now that Drake’s put his money on him.
One user stated Izzy’s loss is guaranteed.
On the other hand, one fan believes Izzy will become a victim of Drake curse.
Hilariously, while one user doesn’t buy into the curse, he is still annoyed by the bet, saying it’s totally pi**d him off.

One fan stated that he’ll put all of his money on DDP.
While fans are having a laugh at Drake’s bet, it’s worth noting that he’s had some big wins too. Remember his $2 million haul from the Izzy vs. Pereira fight and $1.7 million from Jones vs. Gane. Consequently, it proves that his bets don’t always spell disaster. However, the last time he bet on Adesanya wasn’t in his favor.
Drake Lost $500K betting on Israel Adesanya against Sean Strickland
With odds of 1.84, The Canadian rapper put $500,000 on then (Middleweight champion) Israel Adesanya against Strickland. Unfortunately, after Izzy lost to the American fighter at UFC 293, that money went up in smoke.
To be his advocate, nearly everyone expected an easy win for Izzy, but ‘Tarzan’ shocked everyone by not only clinching the title but also making Drake lose his money. Now, it’ll be interesting to see if this new bet turns things around for him.
