Conor McGregor had recently made some money through sports betting, and the recent Spanish triumph at Euro 2024 netted him some more. La Roja secured a 2-1 victory over England, courtesy of goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal, claiming their fourth Euro. Having turned 36 on the same day as the Euro 2024 Finals, the Irishman seemed to have gotten a good birthday gift.
“€1million won on my birthday! 🙏,” The Notorious broke the good news on X after Spain’s victory over the Three Lions. The Irishman had bet €83,500 a month before on 11 to 1 odds for the La Furia Roja’s triumph, predicting he would win a million Euros come his 36th birthday. Well, what can one say? The Mystic Mac stroke again.
Last week, the Irishman had bet Nate Diaz to defeat Jorge Masvidal in their boxing match. The $500,000 bagged him $1,625,000 after the Stockton native emerged victorious via a majority decision over the Miami native. Funnily enough, the Irishman made twice as much money as the combined fight purse of the UFC’s former lightweight and welterweight title challengers.
These victories don’t mean everything he touched turned to gold. The Irishman had bet $60,000 on Cristiano Ronaldo to bag the Golden Boot at Euro 2024. However, the Portuguese captain failed to score a goal in the tournament. McGregor would’ve pocketed a hefty $840,000 if Ronaldo had won the Golden Boot. The 36-year-old had also bet on Messi and Argentina to win Copa America 2024.
McGregor’s Mystic Betting Strikes Again at Copa America 2024
Hours after winning a million after Spain won the Euro 2024, Mystic won another million after Argentina won the Copa America 2024. Despite an injury to Lionel Messi, La Albiceleste secured the victory courtesy of an extra-time goal from Lautaro Martinez.
The Irishman wagered $365,000 on Messi to win his second Copa America, pocketing $1,003,750 as his prediction came true. One of the reasons for McGregor’s popularity was his ability to accurately predict the outcome of his fights.
