Alex Pereira has quickly risen to become one of the biggest stars in the UFC. His star status is evident from the recent pay-per-view events he headlined, including UFC 295 and UFC 300, which generated massive live gates, second only to Conor McGregor’s events. Pereira is also set to headline the upcoming UFC 303 PPV.
Fighter pay is a sensitive topic in MMA, primarily in the UFC. However, Pereira seems to be making a lot of money, even though he only has a handful of fights inside the UFC. Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns might have inside info on their compatriot’s fight purse.
Alex Pereira’s Lucrative Payday Revealed
After Conor McGregor pulled out of UFC 303, the UFC roped in Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka to headline the International Fight Week PPV. Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns discussed Pereira’s star power and fight purse in the recent Show Me The Money podcast episode.
Moicano and Burns revealed Pereira has at least received $5 million for his main event fight at UFC 300. Moreover, they stated Pereira will receive even more for his upcoming fight against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303.
The UFC originally planned for Pereira to fight Prochazka at UFC 305 in Perth. However, McGregor’s withdrawal forced the UFC to push the fight earlier. It is a rematch of UFC 295, where Pereira defeated Prochazka to claim the vacant light heavyweight title.
Their latest fight was at UFC 300. Pereira defeated Jamahal Hill in the main event, while Prochazka defeated Aleksandar Rakic in the prelims. Pereira has become the betting favorite at UFC 303, but Prochazka is a live dog.
