Former UFC stars Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz are set to enter the squared circle in June. Their matchup will be broadcast live through Fanmio on pay-per-view. For those unaware it is the same promotion that promoted Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul in 2021. The two will take part in a highly anticipated boxing matchup that has been building up for years.
It is worth noting that the two have previously fought each other inside the octagon back in 2019 at UFC 244. On the night it was Masvidal who emerged victorious. It was ‘Gamebred’ that had control of the fight from the start and ended up winning the fight via doctor’s stoppage in the third round.
For those unaware, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal competed for the inaugural BMF title. With Masvidal winning the title, it remained with him until he decided to walk away from the sport. As of now, the title is with Justin Gaethje, who won it after beating Dustin Poirier last year.
When did Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal last fight?
Nate Diaz was last seen in the UFC back in September 2022. On the night he submitted Tony Ferguson in round four of the UFC 279 main event. Shortly after getting his hand raised, the UFC veteran announced that he was parting ways with the promotion to pursue other opportunities.
Nearly a year later, Nate Diaz entered the squared circle against Jake Paul. However, his move to boxing wasn’t as successful as he suffered a unanimous decision loss in their professional boxing match.

On the flip side, Jorge Masvidal didn’t win four fights in a row before leaving the UFC. His final UFC fight took place against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. Once the official decision was announced, ‘Gamebred’ took off his gloves and announced his retirement. That said, it will be interesting to see them lock horns inside the squared circle.
