On Saturday night, the UFC returns to action in a big way following a week off. The UFC 302 event, which features a substantial lightweight title bout between champion Islam Makhachev and challenger Dustin Poirier, will bring the organization back to PPV in Newark, New Jersey.
On June 2, UFC 302 will happen at Prudential Center. The main card is slated to start at 10 p.m. ET, with the first fight of the evening planned to begin at 6 p.m. ET locally. The main card will only be available as a pay-per-view on ESPN+, while the preliminary round will be streamed on ESPN+.

Makhachev, 32, faces a new foe in 2024 following his two victories over Alexander Volkanovski. Additionally, after winning the title in Abu Dhabi, defending it in Australia, and returning to Abu Dhabi again, this will be the first time he will defeat his title in the United States.
The co-main event of UFC 302 will likewise last up to 25 minutes. In a five-round non-title battle, heavy-handed action fighter Paulo Costa squares up against former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland. For their first fight since falling to former champion Robert Whittaker and middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis, respectively, Strickland and Costa are scheduled to square off.
