The UFC Saudi Arabia is all set to take place in the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. Robert Whittaker and Ikram Aliskerov will scrap in the main event. The entire card boasts a series of thrilling fights in the octagon, featuring several UFC stars. Recently, a post went viral on social media that revealed how much the fighters would make through promotions in the cage and explained how the UFC stars are grouped into different tiers.
UFC Saudi Arabia: Promotional Incentives
The UFC is catching on the fever of conducting some mega events in the land of Sheikhs, Saudi Arabia. It has put forward a rather scintillating card. The UFC has a million viewers worldwide; therefore, the promotion has a ton of sponsors on its roster. Recently, UFC’s promotional guidelines were leaked on the internet, and how the MMA organization separates its fighters into different tiers.
The MMA stars are divided into six tiers, and the more experienced athletes are further down the tier grouping and get paid the most. UFC Veteran Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum are in tier 6 and will make $21,000 for promotions. Russian ace Alexander Volkov is the lone fighter in the fifth tier and will make a hefty $16,000. The main event star, Ikram Aliskerov, is in the first tier and will make a meager $4000 for his appearance in the main event.
With fighter pay being a huge issue in the UFC, it was heartening to see the UFC starlets make a decent chunk of cash through promotional duties. It’ll be interesting to see how the UFC Saudi Arabia comes together in the octagon.
