The UFC never disappoints when it comes to putting on banger fights in exotic locations. The UFC events have been held at different locations all over the world now. It was reported that the company will now be travelling to the land of Sheikhs, Saudi Arabia. The UFC Saudi Arabia has banger of a middleweight bout as its main event with former champion Robert Whittaker taking on the trailblazing contender Khamzat Chimaev. Safe to say the fans are more than just excited for this matchup.
UFC Host Joe Rogan was spotted giving his take on the Joe Rogan Experience on the fight between he two possible future contenders which is set to take place in July.
Joe Rogan on Robert Whittaker vs Khamzat Chimaev in UFC Saudi Arabia
Joe Rogan is an ardent MMA fan. He worked in the UFC as a commentator just for the sake of getting the best seats in the house to witness the fights. In a recent episode with Joey Diaz he talked about the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia. Rogan said,
That’s a wild one. That is a wild fight. Bro, Whittaker vs Khamzat is legit. That’s the real fight for Khamzat. He’s a big dude. He’s a big beefy 185, former champion. Both guys started at 170. That’s a real 185er, they gave him Kamaru Usman and Kamaru didn’t have chance to prepare for that. He had ten days.
Rogan was clearly excited at what’s gonna happen in the near future when Whittaker and Khamzat meet in the octagon. Whittaker has beaten almost everyone in the division barring Israel Adesanya. He was the champion of the division and is known for his well rounded skillset. Robert has got some impressive take down defense and some great counter striking.
Whereas Khamzat is known for his wrestling pedigree. He has been running through all of his opponents up till now. Chimaev is a monster wrestler but is yet to be considered a technical striker. He last fought Kamaru Usman when Usman took the fight on short notice. Khamzat put Kamaru on his back but wasn’t able to finish the former champion.
