The Middleweight division is in an interesting spot. Dricus Du Plessis is the reigning champion in the division. He became the first champion in South Africa to capture UFC gold in the cage. Du Plessis beat out Strickland throughout five rounds to win the UFC championship, but he has yet to defend his title in the cage.
It was rumored that Du Plessis is set to defend his title in the cage against Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 305. His head coach presses that the Strickland will be prepared if the opportunity arises if someone backs out from a title fight.
Sean Strickland’s coach makes a massive claim
The former Middleweight champion Sean Strickland is all set to take on the Brazilian Paulo Costa in the cage in the co-main event of UFC 302. In his last fight, Sean lost his Middleweight strap to Dricus Du Plessis earlier this year in the cage. In an interview given to Submission Radio, his coach clarified that Sean will be ready for any opportunity to fight for the title on short notice. He said,
Whatever the bosses wanna do I’m in man.
Eric Nicksick said he would be more than willing to fly to Australia on short notice. Based on Sean Strickland’s attitude, the former champion will be more than happy to take on any opponent in the cage on short notice.

Middleweight champion of the world, Dricus Du Plessis, is rumored to fight Israel Adesanya in the cage, and recently, the man poked Adesanya. Du Plessis said,

Du Plessis made it clear that he would love to beat Israel in the cage in Kangaroo Land. He even claimed that he wouldn’t want to fight Israel in Africa. Israel and Dricus have gotten into a war of words in the octagon several times. It will be interesting to see what happens when the duo enters the cage in the near future.
