Born on April 27, 1994, Joaquin Buckley is a professional mixed martial artist from the United States. He currently fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Welterweight class. He began competing professionally in 2014 and has previously represented Legacy Fighting Alliance and Bellator MMA. As of April 2, 2024, he is ranked #11 in the UFC welterweight rankings.
The UFC St. Louis event was wickedly awesome. We saw some intense knockouts as well as nail-biting bouts. It was a fantastic event, from Derrick Lewis’s outstanding lesson to Joaquin Buckley’s impromptu Conor McGregor callout. In any case, the dominant bouts caused a shift in the UFC rankings as numerous competitors advanced in their respective classes.
Despite his outstanding performance, welterweight boxer Joaquin Buckley’s rankings appear unaffected. He is still at the same place as he was before the bout. Not to be overlooked is that he triumphed over Nursulton Ruziboev, who was only recently rated in the UFC.
No Change In Joaquin Buckley’s UFC Ranking
When Buckley stopped Luque by TKO in the second round, it was his most significant MMA career victory. Compared to Buckley, who is only 5’10” but has the same reach, his opponent, who stands at 6’5″, is no easy opponent. Although Ruziboev is only in his third UFC, he has a 34-8-2, 2 NC record overall. He has won 32 of his 34 races by finish, 25 of which came in the opening round.
Conversely, Buckley has won 13 of his 18 bouts via knockout, so this battle could be exciting. Although Buckley has spent time practicing with people comparable to his size, he acknowledges that it will take much work to defeat his larger opponent.
While Buckley acknowledges that defeating Ruziboev might not advance him up the rankings, there will be significant benefits for the UFC fan base, star development, and plans for when he returns to the Octagon.

“I think this is going to be the one that kind of blows me up,” Buckley said. “I think this is the one that takes my career to the next level and makes me skip some spots. A good performance over Nursulton and what he brings and what he has to offer, I feel like the UFC will reward me after this.”
Buckley’s feelings are up to him throughout the walk, but he will undoubtedly seize the opportunity.
