Given the fact that many athletes are gravely injured in the process, the promotion and the state commissions have to ensure the safety of every athlete involved.
The use of PEDs (Performance-Enhancing Drugs) is an infamous way fighters improve their odds of winning bouts. Dana White’s latest prodigy admitted to using PEDs recently.
The UFC Saudi Arabia featured many exciting matchups, but a few had to be altered when one fighter bowed out of his fight against Sharaputdin Magomedov.
Dana White’s Newest Fighter Admits to Doping
Joilton Peregrino Lutterbach is the newest star on the UFC’s roster. He was all set to take on Sharaputdin Magomedov in the UFC Saudi Arabia card. But as it turned out, the commission canceled his fight against Sharaputdin as they found out that Lutterbach was using a banned substance. Lutterbach wrote a lengthy post on his social media handle. He said,
Thank you for all the messages of affection during this difficult time. I actually used Juice 3 months ago and had no idea that I would sign with the @ufc.
I could have hidden in the mountains or gone to Thailand to hide as many do and are not tested, but I preferred to take the risk and believe I was clean and fit to fight
I signed the contract 3 weeks ago and so I figured I was in the clear. My case will be analyzed by Combat Sport anti-doping and Sub Zero will certainly be frozen for a few months without fighting or freezing anyone. I would like to say sorry to the @ufc and to my opponent Shara.
I will be frozen and not dead. I will be back soon!
He admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs three months back, as he had no idea that the UFC promotion was going to sign him in the future. Joilton revealed that he could have gone too far East to Thailand or in the mountains to hide from the mandatory drug tests but chose to stay back and go through them as he believed that he was clean and fit to fight.

Joilton also claims to have signed the contract three weeks ago, so he thought he was in the clear. But that was certainly not the case, as he got caught and now will be banned for a few months or years. He vowed to return soon to the cage and fight it out in the UFC.
It will be interesting to see what the UFC and Dana White say about the same. Irrespective of everything, the UFC Saudi Arabia card remains relatively unaffected.
