As it turns out Benoit Saint-Davis fought one of the best lightweights of all time while suffering from a major infection. Not to take anything away from Dustin Poirier but at his best Saint Benoit-Denis would be much more durable than he was in the fight.
It was the first time in his career the Frenchmen was facing a guy who’s been sitting in the top of the division for way too long. Although the 28 year-old came up short in his fight against Poirier there is no doubt that Benoit Saint-Denis is a world class MMA fighter. It’ll be interesting to see who does he face the next time he steps into the octagon.
