UFC legend Luke Rockhold was one of the many coaches that Khabib Nurmagomedov trained with. A former UFC middleweight champion himself, Rockhold recently looked back at the time when the Dagestani fighter was a young boy. Coming into the American Kickboxing Academy with Javier Mendez watching him closely, Khabib was always an impressive fighter.
Speaking on the ‘JAXXON’ podcast, Rockhold reflected on how focused and determined Nurmagomedov was since his childhood. “He [Khabib Nurmagomedov] was tough, man. He showed up by himself, and I was like, Who the f**k is this guy? He was just tough, you know? Running around, just like… you liked his determination. You were like, I want to test this guy. This guy’s confident in himself,” Rockhold stated.
The UFC legend then further went on to explain that looking at his flamboyance, Rockhold could not resist bringing the Dagestani under his program. The duo worked out with one another for a long time, taking significant strides in their professional field. Over the years, Khabib Nurmagomedov matured into an undefeated champion, ending up being a legend himself. Well, while Nurmagomedov retired as a champion, he has a similar suggestion for Dustin Poirier.
Khabib Nurmagomedov Asks Dustin Poirier To Retire
Khabib Nurmagomedov retired undefeated when he was at the top of his game. Naturally, he would also want his peers to do the same. In a recent statement, Nurmagomedov suggested Dustin Poirier call it a day. “I think Poirier have to stop fighting. I think he’s finished,” ‘The Eagle’ said.

Well, in reality, Dustin Poirier will indeed be hanging up his gloves. However, he will come back for one final appearance before bidding his final goodbye to the UFC. Thus, despite retiring long ago, Khabib Nurmagomedov is still very relevant in present times.
