UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has cleared the air surrounding the news of his arrest.
Jones found himself in yet another controversy recently after it was revealed that he threatened to kill a drug testing officer. It was later revealed that the officer had even filed a police report despite ‘Bones’ suggesting that the incident was misleading and at no point did he threaten the drug testers.
Interestingly, the news kept on spreading and it was later suggested that Jon Jones had even been arrested for his misdemeanour. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. Jones recently took to X to release a statement where he clarified that he hasn’t been arrested.
While further speaking about how there was usage of some profanities but he never threatened anyone, Jones said: “I was recently visited by testers while I was celebrating a birthday and taking a nap. Upon waking up, I was caught off guard by the unprofessionalism and protocol by one of the testers which caused frustration leading me to use some profanity I regret. However, I want to emphasize that at no point did I threaten, get in anyone’s face, raise my voice to anyone or engage in any form of assault.”

When is Jon Jones returning to the octagon?
After a hiatus of nearly three years, Jon Jones returned to the UFC last year and won the UFC heavyweight championship. Later, it was announced that Jones would take on Stipe Miocic in his first title defence in November.
However, Jones ended up suffering a shoulder injury which required surgery and was forced to pull out. While ‘Bones’ seems to have recovered, a timeline for his return is still not confirmed at the moment and it remains to be seen when he returns to the octagon.
