Dana White sees a money making opportunity and is clearly trying to pounce on it, and that’s despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The UFC has reportedly filed 22 trademarks for the terms “Fight Island” and “UFC Fight Island.”
That is according to trademark attorney Josh Gerben, who stated the promotion filed 11 trademarks for the term “Fight Island” and 11 for the term “UFC Fight Island.” Each application filed for specific goods and services, including gear, equipment and even jewelry.
All 11 applications were made on April 13TH.
“Fight Island is real!” White told fans following the announcement of UFC 249’s demise. White made headlines recently when he revealed he had acquired a private island in order to host future UFC events.
White told Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports that Fight Island is especially important because he needs a place for international fighters to compete.

“We’re going to run through the American fighters pretty quickly, so we have to get that up and ready to roll,” White said.
