You REALLY have to hate wearing a mask to go this far as UFC bantamweight fighter Tony Kelley did to avoid having to wear one for a few hours.
The 34-year-old fighter is set to take on Randy Costa at early prelims for UFC 269 later today in Las Vegas. Having to make the journey from Louisiana to Sin City for the bout, Kelley had two options: a) suck it up and wear a mask during a three hour flight, or b) avoid the mask by taking a 20 hour drive.
Willing to do whatever it takes to avoid the mask, Kelley opted for plan B, taking the 20 hour trip across southern America to make it to his weigh-in.
Kelley later commented on the matter via his Instagram page by saying, “I’m just different, all you sheep just conform and stay quiet. I stand up for what I believe it.”
Hmmmmm… I’m not so sure that opting for a 20 hour drive because you’re not allowed to go on a plane is an example of “standing up for what you believe it.”
