Hundreds of UFC fighters have stepped into the Octagon, with some cementing their legacies even after retirement, and a select few have earned a place on the “Mount Rushmore” of the UFC. Choosing the top four or five fighters of all time is subjective, and everyone has their own biases. Amid all this, when Tom Aspinall recently shared his MMA Mount Rushmore, he received heavy criticism from fans for his selections.
Aspinall’s MMA Mount Rushmore includes Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson, and Khabib Nurmagomedov. While Jones remains active, the other three fighters are retired. One fan criticized the Interim Heavyweight Champion for choosing Khabib, arguing, “Anderson Silva is way higher than Khabib.”
Another fan voiced his disagreement with including Khabib on the list. He also argued that Alex Pereira should have been chosen instead, claiming Pereira was higher than Khabib.
A fan also commented, “No on Khabib.”

Another fan suggested that Anderson Silva should be on the list instead of Khabib.
A fan suggested swapping Khabib for Silva.
Many fans criticized Aspinall for not selecting different fighters, with some viewing it as biased and others having different perspectives. It was especially surprising to fans when he included Jones, who will probably be his next opponent.
Jon Jones Responds to Frustrated Fan Calling for a Fight with Tom Aspinall
While interacting with fans on the social media platform X, Jones casually responded when one frustrated user asked about his next fight. The fan said, “Either say you’ll fight Aspinall eventually, or admit that you’re scared of him.” Jones replied, “No, you seem frustrated, I like you right where you’re at.”
Notably, Jones is recovering from his injuries and aims to return to the UFC by the end of this year. He is most likely to face Stipe Miocic, but Tom Aspinall is also eager for a fight with Jones.
Additionally, UFC CEO Dana White has stated that Jones can fight anyone, anywhere. Fans will have to wait for an official update or date for his return. While November is a widely anticipated timeframe, there has been no official confirmation yet.
