When Conor McGregor went down with a broken leg during his UFC 264 bout against Dustin Poirier, a lot of people were left asking, “When?” And “How?”
Many assumed that perhaps McGregor broke it when one of his leg kicks were checked by Poirier, and it appears as though one UFC fan has pinpointed the exact moment it happened. He even noticed Poirier pointing at McGregor’s leg immediately after.
It took place just 20 seconds into the first round. Watch as Poirier points to McGregor’s left leg after checking his kick:

McGregor made it to the end of the first round, but he was obviously unable to continue after his leg had actually snapped in half.

The former champ has since undergone surgery to repair a clean break of the tibia. He’s expected to be on crutched for six weeks before beginning his rehab.
After the fight, Poirier said he assumed McGregor had fractured his leg on one of the kicks that he checked early on in the fight. “I felt something, for sure. He fractured it on one of the kicks at the beginning of the fight, and then he broke it,” Poirier told Rogan during their post-fight interview. “I’m more than sure of it. He got what he had coming to him. Karma is a mirror.”
