Conor McGregor brought an attitude to the “Road House 2024” set that Jake Gyllenhaal valued.
Reimagined as a 1989 cult classic, McGregor—a former two-division UFC champion—will make his on-screen debut in what is expected to be his most substantial part to date on March 21 on Prime Video.
In certain instances, Gyllenhaal played a UFC fighter, a role he acknowledges was a difficult transition. Gyllenhaal claimed that McGregor adopted the proper strategy despite having to turn around and venture into an uncharted acting area.
While Gyllenhaal’s character, Elwood Dalton, is a former UFC fighter, McGregor, who made his acting debut in the “Road House” reboot, is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion in two different weight classes. Consequently, the two were able to gain a great deal of knowledge from one another.

The actors said that Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor clicked well, and McGregor commented that because of Gyllenhaal’s acting background and his fighting background, they “just blended.” Claiming to have “needed each other for it,” he added that they played to each other’s strengths—pretty nice coming from a man known more for smashing people into pulp.
The actors opposite McGregor found it a little unsettling to film “Road House 2024″ because, while it’s one thing for an ordinary actor to forget to throw a punch, it’s quite another for a professional fighter. Though Conor McGregor might have thrown some light punches on the actors, to match up with the skills of the professional fighter.
Fortunately, McGregor’s co-stars’ excellent back-and-forth conversation made everyone feel more at ease. Although Gyllenhaal had to remind McGregor to retract his punches, It was difficult for Conor to retake shots, especially the one where he had to shoot on the boat, jumping off it and being pulled by the boat just by holding on to the anchor, just to climb up and take the shot all over again.
The actors of the Road House said, “Everyone fell sick” while shooting in the boat.
