PFL aims to break Dana White’s record for the most expensive UFC event set by UFC 306. Last weekend, UFC delivered one of the most historic events ever, featuring visuals unlike anything fans had seen before. Mexican Independence Day became a day to remember for viewers, with White’s $20 million investment proving to be a massive success. Now, Donn Davis’ promotion plans to invest heavily, just like UFC, for their upcoming ‘super fight’ pay-per-view event.
Amid all these reports, White was recently questioned about PFL owner Davis, and he acted like he didn’t recognize him. White appeared indifferent when asked to share his thoughts during a recent press conference. He offered well wishes to PFL, saying,
“I didn’t even know who he was until you said it. So, what did he say? Sounds like a good idea. Good for him. Good luck. I hope it all works out. Yeah.”
White is usually focused on eliminating the competition, but he doesn’t seem concerned this time. Meanwhile, PFL’s upcoming super fight will feature former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou facing PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira. Additionally, PFL boss Davis has also stated that he plans to invest more than White did for UFC 306.
PFL President Donn Davis Vows To Surpass Dana White’s Investment in UFC 306 at The Sphere
From fans to MMA stars, everyone was hyped to see White’s multi-million dollar investment at UFC 306. The Las Vegas Sphere event set a new standard in the combat sports world. However, PFL is making a major investment in Saudi Arabia, pouring even more money into a big fight card scheduled for October 19. In a recent interview with the New York Post, PFL boss Donn Davis stated that their event costs surpass those of The Sphere. He said,
“Dana White talks about his $20 million Sphere event; this is more. Fighters here make more. The card here that will be announced has more big fights coming. This cost to us is more than his cost at The Sphere.”

At present, White’s UFC has a larger fan base, whereas PFL, though newer, also has a solid following. PFL is assembling an exciting fight card, including matchups like Ngannou versus Renan Ferreira, which is bound to excite fans. How well PFL’s event will fare is still uncertain and only time will reveal the outcome.
