Fans might love the action in Dana White’s UFC, but the promotion isn’t flawless. From fighter pay issues to controversial judging, there’s always something sparking debates. Lately, fight posters have become a punching bag, and UFC 310 hasn’t dodged the criticism. With Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura gearing up for the flyweight title, fans expected a more electrifying matchup. Adding to that, the poster has fallen flat, feeling like a quick fix. Now, the headline fight itself is raising questions.
Once again, UFC’s leadership has left fans disappointed. Originally, the event was set to feature Belal Muhammad vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov for the welterweight title, but after the UFC champ pulled out at the last minute due to a toe injury, the fight was scrapped. Rakhmonov vs. Ian Garry was moved to the co-main event, and Pantoja vs. Asakura got promoted to the main event for the flyweight title. And now that UFC has dropped the poster for the event, here’s how fans have reacted to it.
A fan suggested it would’ve been better with Belal Muhammad.
Would've been better with Belal 💔😥

Kai Asakura Dismisses Weight Cut Doubts Ahead Of UFC 310 Title Fight Against Alexandre Pantoja
Ahead of the fight, Asakura said he’s not worried about making weight for flyweight because he’s fought at that weight before and is used to it. He mentioned that in his bantamweight fights, he wasn’t cutting much weight compared to others. Talking to MMA Junkie, he said for flyweight, he’s cutting a normal amount.
“I’m accustomed to fighting at that weight. But with regards to my bantamweight fights, I wasn’t cutting a lot of weight. I was cutting a lot less than everybody else is cutting. So this is, to be frank with you, at flyweight I’m cutting a normal amount of weight than everything else would be cutting,” Asakura said.
Indeed, it’ll be interesting to see how this fight plays out. Given the fact that this will be Asakura’s UFC debut and that he’s jumping straight into a title shot, this is a huge opportunity for him.
