UFC 303 is all set to go ahead in Las Vegas, with Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka fighting for the world Light Heavyweight title. Pereira and Jiri took on the fight on short notice after Conor McGregor withdrew from the bout against Michael Chandler due to an injury he suffered in the training camp. It was reported on social media that Poatan had shaved off his head before his bout this weekend.
Many were surprised by this move, but Alex revealed a rather interesting reason behind it.
Alex Pereira: The Bald Killer
Alex Pereira has taken on the UFC by a literal storm. He has won titles in two different divisions and beaten five former champions in his first nine fights in the promotion. Pereria is all set to defend his title for the second time against former rival Jiri. It was reported that Pereria took his hair off before his second title defense.
Pereira revealed that he takes his hair off because he does not want to look like a nice person when fighting in the octagon. This was a rather interesting revelation by Poatan, who has always been bald when scrapping in the cage. Alex Pereira can often be spotted taking part in some unique pre-fight rituals before his bouts in the octagon. He often walks traditionally and points an imaginary arrow towards his opponent in the cage.
Pereira looks forward to handing Prochazka a loss with his traditional left hook in the octagon. The former kickboxing champion has emerged as possibly the biggest star in MMA and is clearly the face of the sport, with Conor McGregor not in the picture. It’ll be intriguing to witness what happens in the main event of UFC 303.
