Alexandre Pantoja and Steve Erceg fight against one another in UFC 301. Alexandre Pantoja, the flyweight champion of the UFC, says he destroyed Sean O’Malley during their previous sparring match.
O’Malley and Pantoja discussed their previous sparring since each had a different account of what transpired. But Pantoja claims he destroyed O’Malley in their sparring session, and it was so nasty that “Suga” wouldn’t send the Brazilian the sparring video ahead of his flyweight title defense at UFC 301.

Alexandre Pantoja Claims Of Smashing Sean O’Malley
Alexandre Pantoja claims to have destroyed Sean O’Malley before his UFC 301 fight, although he currently states he has no desire to move up to bantamweight. He claims he has significant flyweight battles ahead of him, including UFC 301 against Steve Erceg.
The current king of the weight class above him, Sean O’Malley, and UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja “have some history,” Pantoja said in an interview with Scott Fontana on the New York Post Sports YouTube channel.
Pantoja said that their mutual past began when O’Malley was brought in as a sparring partner before the Brazilian’s UFC debut, following which “Suga” allegedly declined to release the video of the workout:

To his credit, Pantoja pointed out that since he and O’Malley had both ascended through the ranks to claim undeniable greatness, having such a shared experience was a welcome novelty in the sport.
In response to Championship Rounds’ social media post about Pantoja’s latest remarks, Sean O’Malley wrote, “It was a first-round TKO.”
However, back in August 2023, the two had previously discussed the sparring session or knockout in public.
O’Malley posted online: “It’s def not cool to call out ppl below you in weight so I def won’t even mention that I’d knock Alex Pantoja out…. Again.”
