Max Holloway’s team has opened up about their goal for their upcoming UFC 300 fight against Justin Gaethje.
The former UFC featherweight champion will be moving up in weight and fighting Gaethje at lightweight in about two weeks’ time. The highly anticipated bout will take place at UFC 300 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Moreover, it will also have Gaethje’s BMF title on the line.
For those unaware, Justin Gaethje won the vacant BMF title by beating Dustin Poirier after Jorge Masvidal retired. Speaking about Max Holloway’s training camp and his preparations, his coach suggested that despite focusing on Holloway’s strength, they are working more towards getting his pace up.
In a recently uploaded video on Max Holloway’s YouTube channel, his coach had this to say: “We’re trying to get them, we’re trying to get them quicker. We want to make sure that he can push the pace. So, while strength is our priority it’s not our main priority.”

Ahead of the highly anticipated fight, it has been revealed that Justin Gaethje is sparring with former UFC bantamweight title challenger Cory Sandhagen. Sandhagen currently boasts a record of 17-4 and was last seen in action against Rob Font in August last year when he emerged victorious via unanimous decision.
That said, it will be interesting to see how the fight plays out in just about two weeks’ time at the T-Mobile Arena.
