Max Holloway, also known as ‘Blessed,’ has opted to make another move up to the lightweight division. He is set to take on Justin Gaethje, the current BMF champion, in an eagerly awaited lightweight title fight at UFC 300 on April 13, 2024.
Justin Gaethje, who currently holds the BMF title, expresses his desire for Mark Coleman to present the BMF title instead of Jorge Masvidal.
Justin Gaethje Criticizes Jorge Masvidal
On the historic UFC 300 card, Gaethje will face Max Holloway for the BMF title. Gaethje, the current BMF champion, aims to defend his belt. Holloway has suggested Mark Coleman as the presenter of the belt, a role previously filled by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jorge Masvidal. However, Gaethje prefers someone other than Masvidal, even going as far as calling him a derogatory term. Meanwhile, the UFC plans to fly Mark Coleman and his family to the UFC 300 event.
When questioned about his preference for Mark Coleman to present the BMF belt to the winner at #UFC300, Justin Gaethje expressed, “I’ll definitely enjoy it more than [Jorge] Masvidal putting [the belt] on me. He’s a f***ing loser.”
Jorge Masvidal expresses confidence in his ability to defeat Justin Gaethje and claim the BMF belt. He envisions a scenario where, in the future, if Gaethje still holds the title, he wouldn’t hesitate to seize it by knocking Gaethje out cold. Masvidal emphasizes that his intention isn’t personal against Gaethje; rather, he sees it as an opportunity to showcase his skills and dominate the fight. Additionally, Masvidal confirms his plans to make a return to action this year, but in boxing rather than MMA.

Justin Gaethje is hesitant about returning to action in June, even in the event of defeating Max Holloway without sustaining significant injuries. Instead, he would rather observe the winner of the Oliveira vs. Tsarukyan fight faces Makhachev in June. Gaethje, the BMF champion, aims to make his comeback in November for a title fight against the reigning champion at that time.
