Alexander Volkanovski on the bout between Max and Justin ahead of UFC 300
Alexander Volkanovski definitely knows what’s it to fight the elite striker in Max Holloway. In a video uploaded by him on his YouTube channel Volkanovski said,
It’s hard to pick against Max Holloway. I just think Max Holloway is an underdog here and a lot of people are counting Max out and I don’t know why. I think it’s purely because he’s moving up.
Alex made it quite clear that although Max is an heavy underdog against Justin Gaethje, folks should think twice before counting him out. He emphasized on the fact that Max has never been knocked out in the UFC by anyone. He did say that Justin is a heavy hitter and has the potential to inflict some heavy damage on Holloway but Max’s speed is something which might cause issues to anyone in the UFC.
Volkanovski has got a first hand experience in dealing with Max’s boxing. He is sure of the fact that although Holloway might be a heavy underdog he still has the ability to stop the powerful Justin Gaethje. Volkanovski himself ventured into the Lightweight division to fight the champion Islam Makhachev. Islam beat out Alex in both of his fights. Alexander recently lost his featherweight strap to the Georgian Ilia Topuria.
