UFC 300 matchmaking by Dana White has drawn criticism. On April 13, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will host the UFC 300. The main event of UFC 300 will be a light-heavyweight championship match between defending champion Alex Pereira and former champion Jamahal Hill.
However, the BMF title match between Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje, two of the fans’ favourites, is arguably the most talked about match on the schedule.
Islam Makhachev expressed some severe disapproval of the BMF championship bout made by Dana White at UFC 300. The lightweight champion of the UFC, Makhachev, had anticipated facing Gaethje in his next title defence, but he was confused by the matchup when “The Highlight” was scheduled to face Holloway.
Islam Makhachev Reveals Dana White Had Contacted Him For UFC 300
Several competitors, including Israel Adesanya, Khamzat Chimaev, and Jon “Bones Jones,” were reported to take centre stage in the UFC 300 main event next month in the weeks leading up to its official announcement. Among those notable figures was the reigning lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, who disclosed that Dana White, the CEO of the UFC, approached him with a chance to advance and challenge Leon Edwards for the welterweight title.
But Islam Makhachev turned down the offer because he would be fasting for the month of Ramadan, The fighter will be fasting from sunrise till the time the sun sets. He said it is impossible to train while fasting and stated that UFC 300 is “Not the best card”.

From March 10 to April 9, the Islamic month of Ramadan is observed as the holiest month. There was just not enough time for the “Dagestani Destroyer” to get ready for such a significant occasion, as UFC 300 is set to take place on April 13.
Makhachev intends to make a comeback in June. It seems improbable that any of the April bouts—Gaethje vs. Holloway and Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan—will see a rapid resolution. He then focused on Dustin Poirier, who defeated Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299 this past Saturday, for that reason.
