Former Bantamweight champion of the world Aljamain Sterling is set to make his featherweight debut in the UFC. Sterling acquired UFC gold in the Batamweight division when he beat Petr Yan in a rather impressive manner. He is set to take on Featherweight veteran Calvin Kattar in the upcoming UFC 300 card. Kattar was seen giving some massive props to his opponent in a recent interview given to MMA Fighting.
Aljamain Sterling and Kattar both have an impressive twenty three wins each in the UFC. It’ll be interesting to see who makes it twenty four wins in the upcoming weekend.
Calvin Kattar praises Aljamain Sterling ahead of UFC 300
Calvin Kattar is on a two fight losing streak lately. He last fought Brendan Allen and lost. He will be welcoming former Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling in the Feathweight division. Kattar will want to send Sterling back to the Banatamweight division. In a recent interview Kattar said,

Kattar made sure to thank his opponent for accepting the fight on UFC’s landmark card. Kattar is elated to fight a guy who has been a champion before. Calvin Kattar would want to end his losing streak against the former champion of the world. Aljamain Sterling last fought against Sean O’Malley which he lost via a second round knockout.
Calvin Kattar sat out for almost a year after his loss to Max Holloway as he absorbed over three hundred strikes inside of the octagon. It will be interesting to see what happens when the duo actually meet inside the octagon. Sterling might be the favorite due to his grappling heavy style whereas Kattar is pure striker with decent takedown defense.

Aljamain has taken down every opponent he has faced till now mainly because of his Jiu Jitsu credentials. Sterling will be willing to become a two division champion in the company and become a UFC legend in the near future. It will be interesting to see what happens in the fight between the two at the UFC 300.
