Sean O’Malley is set to defend his bantamweight championship for the first this weekend at UFC 299. He will take on Marlon Vera in Miami. For those unaware, the two have previously met inside the octagon.
Their first fight took place back in 2020 when Vera emerged victorious via TKO after O’Malley’s movement was compromised as he hurt his foot. Moreover, it’s the only loss that ‘Suga’ has on his record to date.
As Sean O’Malley gears up to avenge his loss to Marlon Vera this weekend, in this piece we will take a look at who has the better chances of winning the fight. While one would assume that Vera might be the favorite going into the fight having already won a bout against O’Malley, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Considering the fact that Sean O’Malley was visibly compromised in his last fight against Marlon Vera, many believe that ‘Suga’ will make amends and avenge his loss. That said, we are riding the same boat and we back O’Malley to get the job done in emphatic fashion.

Responding to the same during an appearance on the PBD Podcast, Sean O’Malley suggested that he could beat Ryan Garcia in numerous ways if they fight inside the octagon. He said:
“It depends what you want to see. You want me to choke him? You want me to knock him out? You want me to kick his legs? What do you want me to do? I’ll do whatever you want. I can do anything to him… I would talk to the team. I would say, ‘Hey boys, do you want me to knock him out or submit him?’ I’d let people pick. I’d try to do some polls and say, ‘Do you guys want me to knock him out with my left hand, my left foot?’ I’d probably do some games and figure it out.”
